Fleetwood Mac

Few bands have reinvented themselves as dramatically or as successfully as Fleetwood Mac. Born out of the British blues scene in 1967, the group was originally founded by drummer Mick Fleetwood and bassist John McVie, with guitar wizard Peter Green leading the charge. After a rotating cast of members and a rocky early period, the classic lineup crystallized in 1975 when Californians Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham joined the fold, alongside keyboardist Christine McVie. That change was nothing short of seismic.

The band's sound shifted from blues-heavy roots toward a polished, emotionally charged soft rock that somehow managed to feel both radio-friendly and deeply personal. The 1977 album Rumours became the definitive document of that era, a record born from the wreckage of collapsing relationships within the band itself. It remains one of the best-selling albums of all time and still sounds utterly timeless. Tusk and Mirage kept the momentum going through the late seventies and early eighties.

Fleetwood Mac's cultural footprint is enormous. Their music has soundtracked countless films, TV shows, and viral moments, most famously the TikTok resurgence of Dreams in 2020. Their blend of sharp songwriting, gorgeous harmonies, and real human drama made them one of rock's most enduring acts, and honestly, they've earned every bit of it.
