This Privacy Policy describes how MDPSync, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with The Rock Cave website (therockcave.com) and mobile application (the “App”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and do not sell or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Website

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data such as page views, session duration, and general geographic region. This information helps us understand how visitors use the site and improve the experience. Google Analytics uses cookies; you can opt out via your browser settings or the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Firebase Authentication

If you choose to sign in (via Google, Facebook, or Apple), Firebase Authentication provides us with a unique user ID, display name, email address, and profile photo URL. We use this information solely to enable site features such as video likes, comments, fan photo uploads, Mosh Pit discussions, and newsletter subscriptions.

Content Submissions

When you post comments, create Mosh Pit topics, or upload fan photos, your display name and profile photo are stored alongside your content. All submissions may be moderated by site administrators.

Video Likes

If you “fire” (like) a video while signed in, we store your user ID and the video ID to track your likes. This data is used only to display your liked status and aggregate like counts.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address and a confirmation token. We use Mailgun, a third-party email delivery service, to send newsletter emails.

Your email address is not sold or shared with any third party for marketing or other purposes. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link included in every newsletter email.

Newsletter emails are retained until you unsubscribe. Upon unsubscribing, your email address is marked as unsubscribed in our database and removed from the Mailgun mailing list.

Mobile App

Information We Collect

• No account or login. The App does not require you to create an account or sign in.
• No analytics or tracking. We do not embed analytics SDKs or advertising identifiers in the App.
• Local storage. The App stores small values on your device (such as your watch history and app preferences). This data never leaves your device except as described below.
• Push notification token. If you grant notification permission, your device’s push token is transmitted to and stored on our server solely to deliver new-episode notifications. This token is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal information.

Push Notifications

The App may request permission to send you push notifications to alert you when a new episode is published. Notification permission is optional and can be disabled at any time in your device’s settings. Push tokens are not shared with third parties and are automatically removed when they become invalid.

Third-Party Services

The App displays content from third-party websites using embedded web views, including therockcave.com, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. When you interact with these services through the App, you are subject to their respective privacy policies.

Background Activity

The App periodically checks for new episodes in the background. If a new episode is detected and you have granted notification permission, the App may register or refresh your push token with our server. Background checks generate standard HTTP requests that contain no personal information beyond what your device’s network stack sends automatically (e.g., IP address), which is not stored by us.

Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the services described above. Specifically:

• Account data is retained until you request deletion via our data deletion page.
• Newsletter emails are retained until you unsubscribe.
• Push tokens are removed automatically when they become invalid.

You can request deletion of all your data by visiting the data deletion page or by emailing [email protected].

Children’s Privacy

The Rock Cave is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the website or App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
