Violent Femmes Tour 40th Anniversary Debut Album

I was all of 16 when I first heard the self titled debut from Violent Femmes. I can say that this record was one of a select few that made me feel so cool. Labeled as Folk-Punk (what?) for us it was Alternative before there was that term. The singing, the offbeat topics and language, the harmonies and the guitar oh my! These were teenagers who made what would become one of the most influential Alternative records of all time. I cannot even pick a favorite song but there we were Sunday night in New Haven, CT catching the 40th Anniversary tour with 2,100 fellow 50-60 year old former cool kids singing all the words and having a great time.
