San Diego native John Stewart has almost 4 dozen albums and 600 recorded songs. He was part of The Kingston Trio in the early Sixties and he wrote the huge hit "Daydream Believer" by The Monkees. Fast forward to 1979 when he went Top 5 with the single "Gold" which was a knock on the recording industry in L.A. at the time. He ended up hating the song and stopped playing it. That said, this is one of the earliest singles I remeber loving and continue to love this song to this day. Do you know who that is on backing vocals? I gave it away in the intro pic. SOTD.
