Nena 99 Luftballons

Thirsty Thursday in The Rock Cave as Nena turns 62 today. She is the highest selling German pop artist of all time clocking in 25 million in sales.Her german version of 99 Luftballons did much better in the U.S. as the English version did not chart and frankly, is not as good. It might be the best song about nuclear war there ever was. This is a song that fell out of my favor for a while and has returned to my good graces. The best part? thousand of kids doing their best in the 80's to sing the ending like we were fluent in German.... lass in fleegan..........now I want to know if there are 99 or 62 red balloons at her party.
