In the early to mid 1980's The Replacements were a band that was putting out brilliant songs and music influenced by the likes of CCR, Slade, The Stones, The Ramones and The Buzzcocks to name a few. Their albums contained punks songs and Country-esque ballads. Their live shows were chaos, marred by drugs and alcohol you never knew what you were going to get. In the end the broke up pretty much on stage after playing each others instruments, yelling at each other and handing them to the roadies. I can't say I knew their music until much later and we have discussed them before but the newly reissued album Tim (The Let It Bleed Edition) box set has me listening to them again with pure joy.
