Hardcore/Punk band Meat Puppets came out of Phoenix and signed to legendary Punk label SST Records in The LBC home to Black Flag and Minutemen among others. Soon they grew tired of Hardcore, gravitating to Country/Western and Acid Rock. Fast forward to their major label record in 1994 which got the attention of Kurt Cobain who had seen them open for Black Flag. He invited them to play on 3 of their songs with him on vocals for MTV Unplugged and the rest was history. Lake of Fire is a fan favorite of Nirvana but Backwater is your song of the day, a great 90's tune that holds up.
