Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros

The Clash had an epic meltdown in 1983 following Combat Rock and singer Joe Strummer became a journeyman doing the occasional song, producing, acting you name it in the years that followed. In 1999 he gathered together some pretty epic muscians as his backing band and dubbed them The Mescaleros. They released 3 albums and toured several years. In hindsight I wish I had seen these tours. I came to know them from the movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith and your song of the day is Mondo Bongo. Check it out on Wanderlust Wednesday here in The Rock Cave.
